Summer term 2017
Topic overview WW2 for Owls and Woodpeckers group:
We have been looking at the key people involved in WW2 like Adolf Hitler, Neville Chamberlain and Winston Churchill.
We have looked at the Battle of Britain and the Blitz. How children were kept safe with the use of gas masks and building of Anderson Shelters and evacuation.
We will also be investigating how people survived on rationing and trying some of the food they cooked during the war.
Spring Term 2017
This term in Woodpeckers and Owls’ groups we have been learning about the ancient Egyptians. We have been on a trip to The British Museum to look at some amazing artefacts.
Our Egyptian Adventure stories
We have written non-chronological reports, adventure stories and found out so many amazing facts!
In Frogs group this term we have been learning about how African art has influenced European art. We mainly focused on Picasso and Matisse. This project is really helping the pupils to increase their confidence in expressing themselves artistically.

Autumn Term 2016
In Key Stage 2 pupils have been using a ‘Talk for Writing’ approach to retell stories of Heroes. Pupils retold the story of Guy Fawkes in verbally and in writing. They then created animations to retell the story in pictures. See a lovely example below:
