‘Leaders have introduced a range of programmes aimed at building pupils’ resilience and love of learning’

OFSTED 2017

Victoria Drive PRU is committed to preparing children for the twenty first century, which is an increasingly technological world. In order to do this we continually extend our expertise and understanding of the resources available and the software that we use. The pupils are taught the main elements of Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy through our cross-curricular approach. The children use computers for word processing, simulations, controlling and monitoring devices. Children have the opportunity to use iPads regularly for learning and as a digital media tool. There is a wide range of exciting educational applications to support these activities. We aim for children to be confident users of computers and everyday technology. A high priority for us is Safeguarding children. Online safety and the importance of knowing the rules of using the internet is regularly discussed in sessions, alongside Online Safety events throughout the year and posters are displayed around the school.
